Noncommercial use of sound trucks is limited to music or human speech and permitted for four hours daily between 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., with no operations on Sundays and legal holidays. Sound trucks must operate at least 10 mph (except when stopped by traffic for no more than one minute), and sound cannot be issued within 100 yards of hospitals, schools, churches, or courthouses. Volume must not be audible over 100 feet from the truck and not exceed 15 watts of power. Commercial advertising by aircraft with sound amplifying equipment has similar time restrictions and conditions, including a minimum altitude of 1,500 feet and directional sound.
