Sounds caused by construction during prohibited hours (11:00 P.M. and 7:00 A.M.) are exempt with a special permit approved by the building department or city engineer.

Unlawful to operate a loud amplification device upon or within a motor vehicle if the sound is plainly audible upon a public right of way or street at a distance of 50 feet or more from the source. In parks, music must be no louder than 62 decibels at a distance of 240 feet from the music source, or 62 decibels at 500 feet if the 'big fireplace' is also reserved.

City of Nampa Animal Control handles barking dog complaints. To file a citation for nuisance barking, a barking dog log and video evidence are required, along with proof of attempting to address the issue with the neighbor. Roosters are prohibited within city limits due to noise issues.

Unlawful to operate or permit the operation of any loud amplification device upon or within a motor vehicle in such a manner that the sound therefrom is plainly audible upon a public right of way or street at a distance of 50 feet or more from the source of the sound. Abandoned or unlicensed vehicles on private property are handled by Code Compliance (208-468-5473), while those on the street are handled by Nampa Police (208-465-2257).
