Loud and raucous noise from construction work in or adjacent to a residential area is prohibited other than between 7:00 AM and sunset on weekdays and Saturdays. Work is generally not allowed on Sundays. Exceptions require permission from the director of public works for urgent public safety necessity.

Playing any radio, phonograph, tape, compact disc, musical instrument, or other sound-producing device from a vehicle is prohibited if audible at a distance greater than 25 feet and exceeding 85 decibels. Mechanical loudspeakers or sound amplifiers may not be operated within 150 feet of a residence's property line, except between 8:00 AM and sunset, and only as designated by publication in a local newspaper of general circulation.

The Animal Control and Rescue Center investigates and resolves complaints about animals and enforces city-parish codes pertaining to animals. Nuisance complaints can be reported.

Sounding a horn or signal device, except as a danger signal. Using any vehicle so out of repair or loaded that it creates loud grating, grinding, or rattling noise. Discharging exhaust into the open air without an effective muffler to prevent loud and raucous noises.
